April 29th, 2009: HB-1888

All County Commissioners and County Officers,

Please contact your Senators and Representatives about HB-1888.  This is an unfunded mandate on the Counties, and should be studied over the Interim.  This program will raise taxes to subsidize some ambulance services, and it sets up deadlines that may be imposable to meet.  This is a statewide program that will need at least another year of study.  We agree with the concept of ambulance services for all four corners of all counties in Oklahoma, but you can’t put that kind of program together in one year.

Tell your Senators and Representatives to vote “NO” on HB-1888, and send it to an interim study so everyone will have some input and real understanding of what this bill should look like.
